Granular activated carbon filters are made using carbon that has been ground up and is held together loosely inside a cartridge. It removes certain chemicals, particularly organic chemicals, from water. GAC filter can also be used to release chemicals that give objectionable odors or tastes to water, such as hydrogen sulfide (rotten eggs odor) or chlorine.
